Happy Home Times

Hello to you.
Its been a changeable week here in Wales weather wise.
When the sun has occasionally shone I've been out in the garden.
We are now in my favourite months of year when everything bursts into colour and is fresh and new.
Hope you enjoy the photos from my garden this week...
Tulip Angelique such a pretty blousy variety.

Wall flowers with that wonderful scent, I wish I could bottle it.

Teeny tiny salad seedlings.

Allium waiting to pop cant wait to see it.

I loved the contrast of the copper beech and the green beech against the blue sky.

Lilac beginning to open.

Honey bee visiting.

The blue bells are in full swing down the banks in the garden.

White bells and skimmia.

Delicate fennel.

In doors......
some more flower love, pretty pink and cream roses.

My hootie owl.

I've been busy sewing more wares for the shop I volunteer at. This is a cushion topped off with vintage coat buttons.

The shop wares are mounting up.

Finally meet kitty grey eye inspired and helped by the lovely Joy. You will see a better version on her blog here
Thank you Joy for some very long distance learning!

Hope your all having a lovely week what ever your doing.

Pig Racing and Making

Hello all.....
Well its been a busy week.
This weekend has been a little bit different to last, the weather mainly.
Last weekend was full of sun this weekend overcast and blah!
But it hasn't spoilt our fun.
Today we all jumped into my best friends car and took a trip to the local farm park.
It's a lovely place to visit with friendly staff and lots to keep children and adults busy.
Well worth a visit if your ever in the area.
Here are some photos from our trip....
Pig racing...they seem to really enjoy it.
Isabelle the cow very kindly let us practice our milking skills on her.
Here's my daughter having a go at milking.
and sorry couldn't resist a photo of this super cute baby bunnies.

I have been crocheting away making owls and bows mostly this week.
The charity shop that I volunteer at has asked me to make some crafts for them so I've been busy making. I had to literally blow the dust off my sewing machine, but have put it to some use this week making tote bags and hanging hearts.
Here are some of the crocheted owls and bows....

The owls are wonderful and I think I might be a bit addicted to making them! Check out the tutorial here on one of my favourite blogs.
The last thing to tell you about is our house guest, my Grannie's dog Flossie.
Here she is surveying the garden it was nice to have a doggie for a few days although my cats nearly disowned me!
Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend

Watch The Birdie

Hello hope everyone has had a lovely sunny day...
It's been a lovely sunny day here in north wales. The garden is starting to spring to life, the flower beds are filling out nicely and colours are breaking through. I've noticed today the large flowering cherry is popping now with lovely white blossom.
It always makes me smile to see the little leaf buds starting to burst open showing the beautiful fresh green new leaves inside.
I've been having a sort out in my sewing room today and discovered some forgotten birdies I made last year.
Here they are hanging from the lilac tree in the garden.
A tree full of birdies.
Some of the birds have dried lavender inside and smell wonderful.
This bird is made from vintage dress fabric.
A box full of loveliness.

Twit too hootie owls!

Lavender heart hanger.

I enjoyed making this vintage pin cushion I used very old Laura Ashley fabric from my Grannies collection topped off with a vintage button.

So the plan with these is to donate them to a local rehabilitation centre where they work with people who have mental and physical disabilities.
They have a craft table where they sell wares to raise money for activities and up keep of the centre.
If they sell I will keep donating in the hope that doing something I enjoy helps.

Anyhoo on a different subject my daughter and I had some visitors to the garden yesterday we were so excited to see them....
Here they are having a nose around the veg garden! My daughter and I couldn't resist giving them a cheeky slice of bread they seemed to enjoy it.
My guess was they were looking for the perfect nesting place....so fingers crossed for some ducklings soon.
I spotted these pretty narcissi that have opened over the last few days. I love the two tone yellow.
The hyacinths are out...and smell wonderful the breeze keeps wafting the aroma down the my favourite sitting spot.
Hope everyone is having a lovely week

Twit Twoo

Yesterday I went on my monthly trip to my local wool shop.
It's like being a child in a sweet shop when I'm there, I save my money all month so I can go and get most of the colours and variety's that I want.

They have a really great website too, with I think fair and reasonable prices.
Oh this occasion I was greeted by a lovely helpful lady who couldn't do enough to help, I've spoken to three different members of staff there and they all couldn't be nicer which makes such a huge difference.
On this trip I bought some of my usual DK wool in bright colours and some gorgeous Viking eco alpaca wool (a treat from my very kind partner)
I love the unusual colour  Mauve 468. It's wonderfully soft and cosy. I thought perfect for a snuggly  scarf. I've started hooking the scarf I was in two minds at first whether to knit or crochet.
I love the look of a simple double crochet so I decided on that in the end.
Will keep you posted on my progress.
So after shopping till I was dropping I came home and hooked a couple of hootie owls!
I'm a huge fan of this ladies blog and have followed many of her tutorials when I saw these lovely owls I had to give them a go....
Here they are I made one and had to make another!

My Daughter has claimed one already!

Such a brilliant tutorial easy to follow and clear instructions

They were so fun to make....I think I might be addicted!
Many thanks again to Jacquie
So much fun
xx
