Seaside Shenanigans and a Retro Draft Excluder

Hello, hello.
We enjoyed a lovely bank holiday Monday.
We packed up the car and headed to the coast.
My daughter loves crab fishing so we started with that.
Here are some that we caught and released.
My daughter like me loves animals and insisted on holding them, they must have liked her too because they didn't nip her, only me while releasing them hehe.

We went to Trefor a small village with a harbour and beach in a lovely part of Wales, on the llyn peninsula.
It's actually quite a special place for my partner and I, it's the place we fell for each other.

When we arrived although it felt warm, the sea mist was in and made the mountains look quite eerie.

But it soon cleared here is my partner and daughter crab fishing over the harbour wall.

The mist heading out to sea and over the mountains.

When the mist cleared we were left with a sunny warm day to enjoy.

Boats down on the beach.

A tractor ready to pull in a returning fishing boat.

The magic pat, that makes the perfect sandcastle.

Beautiful scenery. Don't you just love the smell of the sea?

I've been making some draft excluders today for the craft sale.

Did I mention the craft sale is next weekend! I'm very nervous...just hope it goes well and makes some pennies for the charity.
Thank you so much for your lovely comments on the last post.
Hope that you have a lovely weekend what ever you're doing.

There's No Place Like Home...

Hello to you!
We enjoyed a lovely week away with lots of happy times and memories to keep.
We went away as a family of 5 - my parents, partner, my daughter and I.

Being me, I noticed lots of unusual plants and flowers at the Villa garden.
Bottle brush plant here.

Not sure what this purple lovely is.

Orange pretty set off by the arid land.

The bees loved these tubular flowers.
One of my favourite places at the villa.

The garden was well kept and a real sun trap.

A view of mountains from the villa.

Here is the villa popping out from behind a huge bamboo screen.

My holiday crochet, I managed a bit of time with the hook.
We had some lovely days at the beach. Being pale I spent most of my time under the parasol.

My daughter playing in the sand.

Sunny feet and top-knot shadow!

My daughter was in her element with the sand and the sea. We bought snorkels and enjoyed watching the fish in the shallows. My daughter took to it straight away and mastered the breathing better than us.
Some of the insect-life at the villa was stunning and, to an animal lover like me, very interesting. I only managed to snap this huge butterfly and...

this mantis such a strange creature but absolutely fascinating.
It made me smiled to see this crochet blanket in the room my daughter stayed in (it was huge!) and would be lovely in chillier weather to snuggle under. Somebody (possibly my partner's late mother) obviously put a lot of love and hard work into making it.
All in all we had a wonderful holiday enjoyed by all 5 of us.
My daughter arrived home to find this massive marrow in her veg plot!
She calls it her fat bottom marrow!

I have news too!
On the third night of our holiday my partner and I had a night out together.
During a walk on a moonlit beach my partner proposed to me! So, my bloggy friends, I am delighted to tell you I am ENGAGED!!!
We are all very happy.
Thank you for all your lovely comments wishing me a nice holiday.
I hope I got back to you all in some way.
Look forward to catching up with all your blogs soon.
Now... back to washing the holiday clothes...

Oh I do like to be beside the seaside!

Hello.
Hope you've all had a lovely weekend so far.
We had a lovely family day at the beach.
I love Anglesey after spending many a family holiday there as a child, it holds lots of special memories.
We packed up the car and headed to Island and on from there to
It's surrounded by forest which contain the very rare Red Squirrel, unfortunately we didn't spot one.
Here are a few snaps from our day.
My daughter exploring the rock pools, can you see the misty mountains in the background?

While my partner was having a snooze my daughter and I sabotaged his flip-flops!

Sanding feet it was so relaxing *sigh*

The beach...I really haven't done it justice.

My daughter having a paddle, I was quick to join her for a swim after this photo was taken.
It really was a lovely day.
Sunny yellow flowers

New dawn roses on my Mum's arch.
My daughter informed me it was the hottest day of the year here today, It certainly did feel like it.
Still obsessed with the crochet bunting, loving these quick and easy flowers in this months Simply Crochet.
Thank you so much for your lovely comments on the last post.
