I'm Leaving On a Jet Plane...

 Hello, hello.
How are you all?
Well I hope.
I'm off on holiday soon so I thought I'd write a quick post before I leave.
I've started another simple square blanket.
I thought it would be a nice easy project to take on holiday with me.
I've gone for a bluey colour scheme this time.
I little bit different for me as I usually have to have pink in it somewhere!

I've made a start.
I quite like the way its turning out so far.
I think I will enjoy hooking away on holiday.

I've also recently finished a bag for my craft sale in September.

It needs a good iron, but it will have to wait 'till I get back.
Well, again, thank you to the lovely people who commented on my last post, always lovely to hear from you!
Hope you all have a lovely week.
See you when I get back.

Raindrops on Roses

Hello, Hello

Hope everyone has been having a lovely weekend? Sunday already, the week has just flown by.
It's been quite busy here with one thing and another, have had some crafty time too though.
Let me introduce you to Foxy Loxy...
New member of the magnet gang.
My wool order arrived on Wednesday so I've picked up where I left off with my hexagon blanket.
It's coming on well and feels super soft.

I've been sewing peg bags for the craft sale, I used some vintage fabric on this one.
The weather's been a bit changeable here this week, but between showers I've managed to get some garden time...
My first crop, it feels so good to have grown something yourself.

Plenty more where that came from!
Here are some flowers that have gone pop this week. Flag Iris.

Pretty pink aquilegia found amongst the ferns.

Not quite popped yet but on its way, Allium.
Finally, raindrops on roses...

I cant get enough of these roses, not only are they beautiful but the smell is divine.
Thank you for visiting me.

Beach Hut Door Stop and Award

Hello All
Hope your all well and wonderful?
I dusted off the sewing machine and had a play.
I made some beach hut door stops for my ever approaching craft sale.
I'm still learning but this little project pleased me as it gave quick results.

I used bits of material I had knocking around.

All finished - not bad for a first attempt.

I was very happy to be nominated for a

The lovely Eilidh Smith was kind enough to nominate me.
So here goes and I hope it's alright!

These are the five questions Eilidh asked...

 1.  If you had 3 wishes what would you wish for?
I'd wish for world peace (I know cliché)
My daughter having a happy long life
and 5 more wishes!
 2.  What jobs have you been procrastinating?
Oh which one...hmm well I supposed it would have to be painting the sitting room.
 3.  What is your favourite flower?
This is an impossible questions too many to choose from! I suppose if I had to pick one it would be either cow parsley, forget-me-nots or roses
 4.  What is your dream job?
Well when I was a child I always wanted to be a zoo keeper.
 5.  What is the best blogging tip you could ever give?
Just to have fun and write about what makes you happy.

Five Random Facts About Me
1, I like to decompile maltisers
2, I talk to my cats all the time!
3, I enjoy the zoo more than my daughter
4, I love the taste of envelopes (not weird at all)
5, I may be addicted to crocheting owls

A huge thank you again to Eilidh  (well worth checking out her tutorial)
From what I could grasp the point of the award is a way to discover blogs with under 200 followers.

Happy Home Times

Hello to you.
Its been a changeable week here in Wales weather wise.
When the sun has occasionally shone I've been out in the garden.
We are now in my favourite months of year when everything bursts into colour and is fresh and new.
Hope you enjoy the photos from my garden this week...
Tulip Angelique such a pretty blousy variety.

Wall flowers with that wonderful scent, I wish I could bottle it.

Teeny tiny salad seedlings.

Allium waiting to pop cant wait to see it.

I loved the contrast of the copper beech and the green beech against the blue sky.

Lilac beginning to open.

Honey bee visiting.

The blue bells are in full swing down the banks in the garden.

White bells and skimmia.

Delicate fennel.

In doors......
some more flower love, pretty pink and cream roses.

My hootie owl.

I've been busy sewing more wares for the shop I volunteer at. This is a cushion topped off with vintage coat buttons.

The shop wares are mounting up.

Finally meet kitty grey eye inspired and helped by the lovely Joy. You will see a better version on her blog here
Thank you Joy for some very long distance learning!

Hope your all having a lovely week what ever your doing.

The Great British Sewing Bee and a Sneeky Peek...

Hello just a quick one today.
Went on the weekly shop this morning it never fails to make me irritated spending so much money on food and essentials but hey it's got to be done.
So imagine my joy when I got to the book aisle and spied the Great British Sewing Bee book!
I've been an avid viewer of the programme on at 8pm on a Tuesday on bbc 2 and was so disappointed that  it's going to be the last one next week it's gone so quick! Wish they could have squeezed some more episodes.
Not being one to spend frivolously....I had to make an exception and buy it.
It did help that it was half the cover price and my partner insisted and kindly treated me to it.
So I think there will be some sewing projects on the cards very soon. It's packed full of ideas and tutorials although it only comes with one pattern I'll forgive it! very excited about delving into it properly later when I have some quiet time after my daughter has gone to bed.
The sneaky peek is the crochet blanket I have started at the top of the photo. I wanted to do something colourful and not very complicated so I've started single crocheting a row at a time.
A nice a project that doesn't take too much concentration and can be picked up and put down.
