Crochet Granny Square Arm Caps and Summer Garden Lovin

Hello to you.
Well I'm back again.
It's very exciting having a new toy to type on.
I've been busy sewing up simple bunting (will show another time) for the wedding and organising my collection of vintage table cloths and mats ready for decorating the marquee. The wedding is getting scarily close now, I think we have about a month to go.
I have my crochet arm caps to show you...

I wanted something to protect the sofa from scratching kitties and my daughters habit of getting chocolate everywhere.
I was really pleased how they stood out on the red sofa.

I have also had a little trial run of making up garden flower arrangements in recycled jars, this is what I'd like at our wedding. I was pleased with the out come. Keeping my fingers crossed that the flowers will stay out for me!

Below a quick peep at what's about in my garden this week...
1, Pink rose (not sure of name)
2, Verbena
3, White old rose
4, Hydrangea
5, Nasturtiums
6, That pink rose again!
7, Magenta  Lychnis coronaria
8, Feverfew
9, Hydrangea Annabelle
We've had a little bit of rain this week not too much, just enough to get the garden flourishing.

In my kitchen table tea cup this week I have...

It was supposed to be just the hydrangea but I broke a lily head off my bunch while trying to get it out of the packaging so it's found a home there too.

Just a quick thank you to my new followers lovely to have you here with me.
A massive thank you too to the lovely bloggy ladies who went over to visit my lovely friend and neighbour at her crochet cottage
Off to get the school uniform ready, have a lovely week.
xx

Bonjour!

Hello and happy Monday.
I'm a little late this week with my post.
Still feeling tired but will be hopefully perking up soon with a change of iron tablets.
We've had some lovely weather today so I am not long in from the garden.

Do you like my bunny?
He says Bonjour to you.
I found the pattern in my new mollie makes magazine (thank you eBay)
He was an absolute pleasure to make.
He is also my first amigurumi toy that has gone right.

I'm still hooking away at my gypsy caravan blanket.
It's growing slowly but surely.

Hope you've all enjoyed a lovely weekend.
xx

Stash busting gypsy carvan blanket CAL

Hello to you.
It's been a good week so far - the temperature has risen a little and I haven't seen rain for a few days... Woo hoo!
With the weather set to get better next week spring is certainly in the air.
I've picked up the hook again this week and have decided to take on my biggest project yet, a huge granny square blanket to go on the back of my sofa. It's also helping me do some much needed stash busting.
Oh dear I have let my stash mount up - so many opened left overs.
I've made a start making lovely circular middles and I now have 13 squares made with ends stitched in! I'm quite impressed with the progress so far. All photographed on my new coffee table, it has a very handy shelf underneath for keeping my crochet magazines...
My summer colour blanket is growing slowly...
Here are some signs of spring in my garden.

Look what I found while stash busting - a lovely new ball of matching beige yarn! So it looks like I will be growing my never-ending granny blanket a little further... Lucky I didn't fasten off properly!
I'm secretly happy to be hooking away on this relaxing project again.
Happy crocheting whatever you're making!

Thank you so much for the encouraging comments on the last post.
Until next time, have a lovely weekend. Hopefully you will enjoy signs of spring wherever you are.
xx
Linking up again with Chrissie and Marianne.

A Mystery Tour and CAL

Hello and how are you?
It's been a less busy week as I've had a few days off, so I've been able to enjoy having my daughter at home. She is on her half term week and has enjoyed it very much so far.
We've had a trip to the zoo, country walks and my daughter has enjoyed sleep-overs with her Grandmother and Dad.
Last weekend my partner and I enjoyed a lovely mystery tour, this is what we call a drive with no idea where we are going or why! It's nice to discover places and roads you've never been to or down before, even if they're in your local area.
Here are some photos from our tour...
What fabulous views we enjoyed! My partner was very patient with me constantly asking to stop to take photos every five minutes ha ha!
I've started making a quilt!! I love a challenge Joy....it's a start - we will have to see if I ever finish it... Now, I'm sure most of you are familiar with Helen Phillips's Blog Well, after Christmas I finally treated myself to her book pretty patchwork gifts and have found myself totally inspired by it and have used her wonderful influences in my quilt.
A recommended read if you love everything on her blog - check the book out you'll love it too!
I've picked up the hook this week too, and have started another endless granny square quilt but in brighter colours this time. I thought the colours looked quite summery and would fit in nicely on the decking in the summer.

Welcome to my new followers - so lovely to have you with me.
Hope you've all enjoyed a lovely week?
Thank you so much for your lovely comments on the last post, you've made me realize that beige isn't always boring!

Birthdays and CAL

Hello to you...
It's been a busy and windy week!
I hope everyone is safe and well after that awful storm and haven't experienced too much damage? We were lucky and only had one large branch down that landed in a safe place... It didn't half make a loud thump when it dropped!
My daughter turned 8 yesterday. I know everyone says it, but where does the time go? I can believe it.
So I hope I will be forgiven for being a day late with my post this week?

Yesterday we a had a small tea party for my daughter, with family and school friends. She told me later that she'd had a lovely birthday - so spending my whole day-off baking and cooking was totally worth it!
I did enjoy decorating the cupcakes!
They seemed to be popular. I have one or two left that I've squirreled away...
I made a little felt dolly from a 'Molly Makes' back issue. It was a lovely evening project, sat on the sofa in front of the fire...
Meet the kitties!
1, Baby Betty
2, Dusty
3, Poppy
(left to right)
I found these on my camera and wanted to share them.
My fiance gave me these today!
I don't usually go in for Valentines day but I love my flowers.

Pop over and see what they've been up to this week - you wont be disappointed.

I've been crocheting a blanket this week just a never ending granny square one.
I know its not a very good picture, the light has been terrible today. Will hopefully be ready for its reveal next week...

I'm very excited as I've gained some lovely new followers! YAY! Thank you for joining me.
I hope you all enjoy a lovely weekend and stay safe and dry.

On a Cold and Frosty Morning CAL

My crochet bag is coming along nicely and starting to look sort of bag shaped.
Lots more joining to do and some straps to make and then I will be ready to line it.

Chrissie Crafts
So happy to be crocheting along again with Marianne  and Chrissie.
looking forward to seeing what everyone has been up to.

Sometimes I forget how lucky I am to have this view every day on our walk to school.
The school run is made easier with views like this.
The mist was hanging over the river.....
....and circling the village.
The sun began to break through.

Trying to keep myself from those January blues and appreciating the everyday lovely things I see.
Hope you've enjoyed coming along with me on my school run.

Hoping you've all had a wonderful week and enjoy a lovely weekend.
Welcome hold heatedly to my new followers lovely to have you with me.

Patch Work Bag Cute and Easy Crochet

Hello, hello!
I've been wondering for a while what to do for my next project.
Recently I've bought a few books from my amazon wish list one of which being Cute and easy crochet. I enjoyed Nikki Trench's cute and easy crochet with flowers so much I wanted to have this one too!
So the new year project! A patchwork granny square bag I thought.
I made a quick start last night and hope to take my time and enjoy it.
Lots of cheery colours perfect for all these grey days we've been having.
I'm still picking up and putting down my hexagon blanket too, I quite like to have a couple of projects going at once.
Thank you for your lovely comments
and welcome to my new followers.
Lovely to have you here with me.

CAL Late! and My Little Visitor

 Hello to you.
Hope I find you well?
It's been another busy week, full of tasks and appointments.
So here I am at the end of the week and I can finally breath a sigh of contentment, lean back and enjoy a relaxed weekend.
I did manage to find some time so finish my gypsy caravan cushion from my Mollie crochet book.
I'm linking in with Marianne and Chrissie again for their blooming crochet along.
I'm still enjoying joining them and the other members, nosing in on what everyone's making.
Excuse the photos - the light was dreadful!
Here it is on the chair.
It's a lovely addition to my sitting room, it's starting to look a bit yarn bombed now!
It was a welcome smallish project after the blanket!

So my excuse now for being a day late....
This is Bella, my friend's daughter who came to visit yesterday. She's a real bundle of fun!
Bella is sporting my recent give-away prize from Joy.
I think you'll agree that it's a beautiful cardigan for a beautiful girl, a perfect fit.
My friend was delighted with the uniqueness of the cardigan and the style.
So thank you again Joy.

I hope you all enjoy a lovely weekend.
Thank you so much for your lovely comments on the last post, really appreciated.

Mollie Makes Crochet Cushion CAL

Hello to you...
Hope you're all well?
This week has seen me turn 29 - my last year of being a twenty something! My naughty shoulder is playing up. I really hope it isn't RSI. I can't not crochet! And we've a new arrival in the shape of a feral kitten...
So, another busy week since I last posted.
So as you know, I've been joining in with ladybirddiaries and chrissiecrafts with their blooming crochet along.
I've really enjoyed the company through my various projects.
Last week saw me finish my CK inspired blanket so I've been twiddling my thumbs and wondering what shall I make next? My partner bought me this book about a month ago and I was instantly drawn to the granny square cushion...

Quite a simple pattern so not too much concentration necessary.
The book is great, full of colourful patterns and comes with a really cool folksy daisy free gift.
My partner bought mine from here
Well worth £5.

I've made my front panel - 36 squares all joined together. Back panel next.
A smaller project is welcome after the blanket.

Here is photo of my favourite birthday present - a genuine 1950's print of The Green Lady. I absolutely love it! My partner bought it for me and knows me so well...I'll stop being slushy now!

Today my daughter, her friend and I carved pumpkins. We all enjoyed the messiness of it!
I hope you all enjoy a lovely weekend.
Thank you so much for all your lovely comments about my blanket and also making me feel less mad RE my daughters rash...
A warm welcome to my new followers - lovely to have you here with me!

I'm Leaving On a Jet Plane...

 Hello, hello.
How are you all?
Well I hope.
I'm off on holiday soon so I thought I'd write a quick post before I leave.
I've started another simple square blanket.
I thought it would be a nice easy project to take on holiday with me.
I've gone for a bluey colour scheme this time.
I little bit different for me as I usually have to have pink in it somewhere!

I've made a start.
I quite like the way its turning out so far.
I think I will enjoy hooking away on holiday.

I've also recently finished a bag for my craft sale in September.

It needs a good iron, but it will have to wait 'till I get back.
Well, again, thank you to the lovely people who commented on my last post, always lovely to hear from you!
Hope you all have a lovely week.
See you when I get back.

Blanket Inspired By Nature

Hello, hello.
Here I am fastening off my third blanket.
Here it is finished. Hooray!
It was a lovely project and took no time at all.

I enjoyed using the bright cheery colours.

It's like one HUGE granny square!

All folded up neatly.

It's not a large blanket but it's big enough for shoulders or a lap.
I really did feel inspired by my mum's lovely posy of flowers from her garden.
I have found using nature for colour schemes very useful.
Thank you Joy for opening my eyes to it.
Hope you're all having a lovely week?
Thank you to all the lovely people who commented on my last post.
