Lifes A Beach

A sunny day by the sea
Yesterday was a lovely day in North Wales the sun was shining and it was starting to feel like spring. We all piled in the car and took a trip to the coast. The snow has been very pretty and created some beautiful scenery on the way.
Pretty fresh day up on the mountains the air was very refreshing.
Snow piled high at the sides of the roads.

My daughter checking out the view
We've arrived! and theres no snow hooray! it looks like spring.
Being in such a scenic place I thought I'd take advantage of it and photograph my newly finished bunting ever  the opportunist!
My thanks goes to Jaquie http://bunnymummy-jacquie.blogspot.co.uk/2010/05/colourful-crochet-bunting.html
again for such a great easy to follow pattern x
Here it is all finished!
Blowing away in the sea air
My favourite picture of it hanging from a beach hut.
We stopped of at Portmerion where they filmed the prisoner and are famous for their pretty pottery designs it's a truely unique place that makes you feel like your aboard in wales (not an easy thing I assure you)

A lovely day out with the family hope your all having a great Easter weekend x

Little Forgetmenots Granny Blanket

All done!
Hooray I've finally completed my daughters blanket.
It's been a slog but I think its been worth it in the end and she loves it so that's all the hard work worth while.
So here it is modelled by my bed
My daugthers room couldn't be seen for toys with it being half term shes been busy making dens and general mess!
My daughter loves the girly colours
I'm sure it will add a good pop of colour to her bedroom (I'm almost tempted to keep it for my room)
It's still a bit bumpy but I'm sure it will settle down soon.
So after a month of having this as my project I was a bit sad when I finished but excited to start a new project.....I looked through some of my favourite blogs and stumbled upon crochet bunting http://bunnymummy-jacquie.blogspot.co.uk/2010/05/colourful-crochet-bunting.html
Please check out this ladies blog for some brilliant patterns and easy to follow step by step instructions I love it I'm always inspired when I visit.
Making a start on the bunting I can see my whole house being covered in this! Love it.
This it what I will be doing today between building dens and shovelling snow!

Cute Collars

With being snowed in yesterday and today I've had plenty of time to do the things I love at home.
Yesterday I found a cute collar pattern in my new magazine (love crochet magazine) from the blogger lululoves which I fully recommend. I enjoyed the easy to follow vintage inspired patterns and ideas.
I'm not one for following patterns so I simplified it a bit for myself as I still really a beginner, but think I still got a good result.
The collars are perfect to jazz up an old round neck top.
I wore mine on the photos with a basic primark long sleeved top.

I chose two bright coloured wools kingfisher new fashion dk and a chunky knit mustard.

Added some vintage buttons from my collection

Excuse the paleness not had much sun recently!
A perfect way to make a boring tshirt stand out and they don't take that long to make.
