Rainy Days...

I thought I would show you these cute little socks I've been hooking up.

You can find the pattern here if you have time have a look-see around this blog there are lots of lovely things to make and see.

I've used the basic pattern from the link, I used all one colour, style craft lipstick (the ones on the link are multi coloured and fab)

I added a little decoration to each one to make them all different.

I've used teeny tiny pegs to hang my socks.

There really cute with the red and white bakers twine.

I've nearly finished my last five that will be going to live with my sister in law.

 

I've recently made a baby blanket in wool.

 

I'm such a fan of style craft, but I must admit working in a lovely soft wool was a welcome change. I really loved the look of it too after it was all blocked.

I used drops lima which is a bargain at the moment!

Crochet Button and The Waiting Game

Hope you're well and wonderful?

This week so far has been full of cold, my daughter kindly brought it back from school.

It seems to always happen in September when they return to school.

 

I saw these lovely buttons online today and had to have a go for myself.

There so cute.

So quick and easy too.

My favourite is the beige one. I think they would be great for adding to scarves or cards.

 

I'm still waiting on the photographer for our wedding photos it's very exciting I cant wait to see them.

Hello

It's lovely to be back, I have finally replaced the broken laptop with a new typing friend.

It's taking a while to get used to but I'm sure I'll will get the hang of it soon.

I've tried my best to keep up with you all and have seen some lovely posts.

So after laptop gate I have been mostly wedding planning and doing the never ending jobs an old cottage throws at you.

I have had sometime for crochet too...

This my latest cushion made from the pattern in simply crochet issue eighteen with style craft Aran. I really enjoyed swapping between the different stitches, I even did my first bobble stitch. The original cushion in the magazine is multi coloured and looks fab, mine is toned down a bit so I can use it in my sitting room.

Finally...

A kitty travel cushion! I used the pattern from simply crochet issue twenty (the latest)

He took up a lot of double crochets but worth it in the end and is so snuggly.

Cant wait to take him on his first car journey up to north Yorkshire to visit my Grandad.

My daughter loves them,

 I think there great, lovely to see her being creative. The possibilities are endless with what you can make. We think a strawberry key ring might be our next project

 My hoover isn't thanking me for all the strays she leaves behind!

Post 100 gone but not forgotten

Hello 

This week we have been remembering the brave people who fought for us at the D day landings. 

My computer is still playing up and would have loved to have made more of an effort for my 100th post but unfortunately it's just a quick phone one again. 

Thank you so much to my followers and readers who've been no end of support and inspiration to me. 

This week I have been hooking up some flower bunting for my wedding. Less than 2 months to go now. 

I love how quickly they fly off my hook.

Patch Work Bag Cute and Easy Crochet

Hello, hello!

I've been wondering for a while what to do for my next project.

Recently I've bought a few books from my amazon wish list one of which being Cute and easy crochet. I enjoyed Nikki Trench's cute and easy crochet with flowers so much I wanted to have this one too!

So the new year project! A patchwork granny square bag I thought.

I made a quick start last night and hope to take my time and enjoy it.

Lots of cheery colours perfect for all these grey days we've been having.

I'm still picking up and putting down my hexagon blanket too, I quite like to have a couple of projects going at once.

CAL week 8 and Keeping Warm

Hello to you.

Hope you're all well and dandy.

Our house was hit by a lurgy earlier in the week causing a few days off school and a few plans changed.

My partner and I received our wedding pack this week, we now have to chose what vows to say and what will be said during the ceremony. All exciting stuff!

On Tuesday we saw our first flutter of snow that was short lived but caused a lot of excitement in our house. It is, however, still frrrreeezzzinnng! Brrrr! Snow or no snow!

I received the latest copy of simply crochet this week.

I'm still crocheting away on my partner's chair runner. I must admit I'm getting itchy fingers...I may give it rest for a while and have a break. Hmm, we'll see...

This week I've also been crafting away making the finishing touches to my crafty makes for the Christmas sale on the 30th.

1, A beautiful brooch I bought from a local art exhibition, love it!

2, A spotty cushion I made ready for the craft sale.

3, Mr gingerbread.

4, A naughty present for me, bought by me! hehe it was silly how excited I was when it arrived.

I thought I'd leave you with some lovely simple pleasures of the week.

1, A freshly made bed all neat and clean.

2, My flowers I received nearly a month ago for my birthday, amazing how long they've lasted.

Christmas Crafts and Crocheting Along

Hello to you.

Hope you're all well and wonderful?

I can't believe it's Thursday again! Where does the time go?

This week saw the temperature drop so quickly that we endured our first frost of winter.

It certainly is noticeably colder here. So time to light the fire and put on the woolly socks.

Also this week, my partner and I are going to the registry office to do all the official bits that come with getting married, starting to feel real now!

 

My Christmas craft sale is approaching so I've been making bits and pieces here and there when I can find five minutes.

What do you think?

I really enjoy working with felt, a little crochet star has snuck in too!

I recycled some old pillow cases and turned them into present sacks with a cute Father Christmas face on it.

Here they all are together.

Only lots more to make!

Here's my ripple stitch chair runner - not got very far with it yet. I've never tried a ripple stitch before so slowly getting used to it. I have memorized the pattern now so that's half the battle.

I'm joining in again with Chrissie and Marianne.

Mollie Makes Crochet Cushion CAL

 

Hello to you...

Hope you're all well?

This week has seen me turn 29 - my last year of being a twenty something! My naughty shoulder is playing up. I really hope it isn't RSI. I can't not crochet! And we've a new arrival in the shape of a feral kitten...

So, another busy week since I last posted.

So as you know, I've been joining in with ladybirddiaries and chrissiecrafts with their blooming crochet along.

I've really enjoyed the company through my various projects.

Last week saw me finish my CK inspired blanket so I've been twiddling my thumbs and wondering what shall I make next? My partner bought me this book about a month ago and I was instantly drawn to the granny square cushion...

 

Quite a simple pattern so not too much concentration necessary.

The book is great, full of colourful patterns and comes with a really cool folksy daisy free gift.

Well worth £5.

 

I've made my front panel - 36 squares all joined together. Back panel next.

A smaller project is welcome after the blanket.

 

 

 

Here is photo of my favourite birthday present - a genuine 1950's print of The Green Lady. I absolutely love it! My partner bought it for me and knows me so well...I'll stop being slushy now!

 

 Today my daughter, her friend and I carved pumpkins. We all enjoyed the messiness of it!

Crochet Along CAL Jam Jar Cover

Hello to you.

I hope I find you all well.

We are all pretty much recovered from the horrible virus that spread through our house. My poor partner as been left with a chest infection but he's stocked up with antibiotics, so hopefully it wont last too long.

 

 

This week I enjoyed making a crochet jam jar cover as part of the CAL, you can find the link on my side bar if your interested in seeing what everyone is up to.

So here it is my first project of many I'm hoping.

Weekend Sale

Hello to you.

Hope you've all enjoyed a lovely weekend?

It's been a long time since I've had such a busy weekend.

I had my first craft sale.

Here is my table full of months worth of work.

We had it over two days. As you can see, the stall didn't stay as tidy as the top photo on Saturday.

I had a very patient helper too, my daughter sat with me all day Saturday and Sunday. Considering she's only seven, she had bag loads of enthusiasm for the whole thing.

Well, it was a good first experience of craft selling direct. Although I didn't make many sales, the sales I did make were greatly received and complimented.

One lady who'd bought a door stop actually came back to tell me that it looked fabulous in her home - which made it all worth while.

So I might indulge myself in making some things for myself for a while now. Saying that, there is talk of a Christmas craft sale, so we'll see.

Nerves and New Arrivals

Hope you are all well and wonderful?

It's been a busy time here, my daughter returned to school yesterday for her first day of juniors. It was a big change for her but I think she has enjoyed herself, especially catching up with her friends.

Here is our new little friend Wicket, my daughter's first pet. When I was a child I was always encouraged to keep pets.

I think it's good for children to have something to care for and gives them a great sense of responsibility. Also, keeping pets from such a young age has given me a life-long love of animals that I hope my daughter will inherit too. 

I've been busy sorting through bags and bags of knitting needles and pairing them up. On Saturday they will go on sale for fellow knitters at the craft sale.

I treated myself to this little tin, originally for record needles but now a home for pins.

I have quite a collection of vintage tins and will have to show them to you one of these days...

Getting ready for next year, I bought my garden a present of some new bulbs.

I will plant them for much needed early colour in early spring. 

This little beauty looks up at me while I'm washing up and makes me smile.

My wool stash had a tiny clear out today - the wool ends I picked out will go to the craft sale.

Our tea last night, requested by my daughter. Simple pasta with roasted red pepper sauce and our courgettes from the garden.

My daughter and I have been harvesting sunflower seeds.

So neat in their little honeycomb home.

Plenty of lovely seeds for the birds.

Lovely Chrissie mentioned in her last comment to me that she would like to see some of my craft sale wears, so here they are.

I've been busy pricing and arranging.

I will take photos on Saturday of my stall for you all to see.

I found pricing quite difficult... I really couldn't decide what they were worth.

So school runs begin and my big weekend is approaching. I am quite nervous to be honest, it's the first time I've put myself out there for opinions and critique.

So bloggy friends wish me luck.
