Books and Shades

Hello to you...
I've  had some truly lovely comments on my last post, thank you so much for stopping by taking the time to comment.
This week I've been mostly indoors due to the rainy weather.
Perfect time to snuggle up with a book my friend and neighbour kindly gave me to have a look at.
It's called "Crochet Workshop" by Erika Knight.
It's well worth a peruse.
I found the section showing different crochet stiches very interesting, being fairly new to crochet I didn't realise that there are so many!
There are some lovely projects too the Asymmetrical cardigan has to me my favourite, I think I will need wore practice before I attempt that.

I've been sitting in the window crocheting a basic cushion. I ran out of yarn shortly after the photo so will have to  wait to finish it. I'm using woolcraft new fashion 885 walnut such a bargain at £1.25 a ball.

This here is one of my favourite things. It belonged to my Great Grandmother (big Nana) It's battered and faded but I love it.
Sometimes it's the history as well as the item.

Lastly...
My Mum knowing my love of flamingos bought me a present this week.
Some super pink and glittery shades!
I think there amazingly kitsch.

Hope everyone is having a lovely week so far.
I'm very excited, we are visiting the zoo tomorrow (I think I'm more excited that my daughter)

Sunny Day x

Hello.
Thank you to everyone who has commented...I really enjoy reading your thoughts. It's lovely to get such positive feedback and advice.
It's been a lovely warm sunny day here in North Wales.
The sun certainly had his hat on.
Here are some photos from today....
I think this is a perennial corn flower if anyone knows different please tell
I thought it was quite spectacular.

Gazing up at the blue sky through the cow parsley.

My little girl's paddling pool before the splashing commenced!

The butterflies are finally out and about in force...

...and from another angle, sorry couldn't resist. Love butterflies!

Damselfly hanging out by the pond...

...and one more cow parsley photo because I love it! Lovely blue sky too.
I've missed the sunny weather amazing how it can lift your sprits.
We've had a lovely day just being outside, playing ball games and enjoying being together.
Hope whatever the weather and wherever you are, you've had a wonderful weekend.

Crochet Granny Wreath....

Hello to you.....
Last weekend I finished off my granny wreath.
I used a wonderful tutorial by
Such a fabulous idea and simple, with this easy and clear tutorial.
So a big thank you.

Here it is...I really enjoyed making every bit of it.
I bought the polystyrene wreath from eBay that was the most expensive part........but totally worth it.
Perfect project for a rainy day.
I couldn't resist some close ups!
So another massive thank you to MemeRose for sharing this, and inspiring me to have a go.

Bluebell Loving and Woodland Walking..

Hello...
Well I do love a woodland walk.
I like to drink in the atmosphere of the quiet wood.
It's the perfect time of year to see the trees, plants and animals bursting into life.
I adore the sights, smells and sounds.

Hanging from a tree as you do!

Having a quiet sit down looking out over the lush vegetation.

Wild flowers popping up this red campion is one of my favourites I planted it last year in my garden and its spreading out beautifully.

Sky scraper pine trees.

Strange fungus.

A lovely tempting trail.

and here they are beautiful blue bells, what I came for.

Such a wonderful colour.

My partner and daughter leaving me behind, I was too busy snapping away.

Bluebells in the sun. A magical blue carpet......

Stretching out under the shady trees.

Lichen a lovely slivery grey.

A fairy glen.
hope everyone is having a lovely week so far.
Hope you enjoyed the bluebells as much as I did.

Parents and Pin Cushions...

Hello to you.
Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend.
It's been sunny here today, hooray! So outside we went.
We visited my parents which is always a popular choice with us all, especially my daughter.
Here are some photos from our visit.

Mum's chives coming into flower.

Pretty in pink tulips

The fish were frisky in the pond.

Lovely cow parsley...so beautiful.
The daisies were too tempting for my daughter and Mum.

Time for daisy chains.

Working together.

Lovely blue sky.

I'm still working on my hoard for the charity craft sale, its growing slowly.
Here is one...
I love doing some crocheting in my Mum and Dad's conservatory it's the perfect light for craft work.
I want a conservatory. I think I'd better put it on my "in your dreams" list.
Got to have a cuppa - it can be thirsty work!

The beginnings of a sunny yellow and orange pin cushion.
Thank you for readings my ramblings.
Hope you have a lovely week whatever you're doing.
