CAL and The CK Inspired Blanket

Hello to you.
I hope that I find you all well?
It's been a another busy week, Monday was a bit of a nightmare with my daughter worrying me to death with a rash that had appeared on the back her neck! I managed to get her seen quickly by the doctor and it turned out to just be one of those things (a reaction to washing powder maybe)
I've not always been such a fuss pot, but when my daughter was 3 she had a terrible time with an appendicitis that had been misdiagnosed and became infected. So I think I may be a little bit over protective now. Like the saying goes though, it is "better to be safe than sorry!"
Apart from that I've been settling into my new part time job and I think I'm doing ok so far.
Oh and I've been to look at wedding venues too...I now have a possible date for our wedding - exciting times ahead...

Anyway, on with the post...
You may already know I'm taking part in the CAL with Chrissie and Marianne.
This week saw me finally finish my Cath Kidston inspired blanket - Hooray!
I have really enjoyed making it but I can't lie... when the end was in sight I was slightly relieved!
So here it is!
Tada!

I also bought myself a little treat with my wages and couldn't wait to make the free gift.

I enjoyed this small project - SO quick after the CK inspired blanket and totally satisfying.

Well, I will leave you now with some lovely Autumn blooms from my garden...
They're still going!

1,2, Sunflowers
3, Viburnum
4, Marigold
5, A baby squash.
1, Rose
2, Red berries (the birds love these)

4, Japanese Anemone
5, Autumn leaves.

Hope you all enjoy a lovely end to the week.
Thank you all for your lovely comments on the last post and WELCOME to my new followers - so lovely to have you here with me.

  1. What kind of magical green thumb do you have to still have all those beautiful blooms? Your blanket is absolutely terrific! Well done, and what is next on the hook for you? ;-) I'm glad the job is going well, and you are in good company with me when it comes to worrying about daughters! I think you're spot on when you say it could be 'residual nerves' from her appendicitis - I had a very tricky pregnancy with my first, so I was a huge worrier even before she appeared, and it snowballed from there! 6. Your blanket is so pretty! I love the colours you chose and it looks gorgeous on that bed! I think it is always a relief to get to the end of blankets as the end feels a bit like torture to me. Snap for the crochet snowflake, I joined you in making that this week. Pleased to hear that you are settling into your new job. xoxo

  12. Hi FB, I love your finished blanket, a big job well done, and so bright and cheery! Glad to know your daughter is okay - it's quite natural for you to have concern for her, especially with a scary medical experience in the background! All the very best with wedding plans - what excitement, I'm so happy for you! I'm also happy that your job is working out nicely for you too.Your little snowflake is gorgeous - I expect it'll be January or later before I get hold of the latest SC mag., a bit late for Christmas eh! Last but not least, your garden is still bloomin' gorgeous, how nice that you still have so much colour around you - amazing!
    Have a great weekend FB!

  14. Great news that your Daughter has nothing serious. As parents we do tend to panic when we see rash on children. Love the colours you are using. I've just ordered some yarn Cath Kidston style to crochet a scarf.

  19. Congratulations on your new job! I think you mentioned your job a while ago but I haven't been keeping up with reading blogs properly recently. Lovely flowers and your blanket looks good, I'm doing a granny stripe blanket in beach colours but I'm making slow progress!
